A countdown is context, not a promise.

This site does not submit applications, collect documents or control a decision. Check the live requirements on the government portal before relying on any travel plan.

The number everyone quotes, and the number that matters

Vietnam’s official e-visa system publishes a processing window measured in working days. That figure is a target for the issuing authority, not a promise to any individual traveller, and it starts counting when a complete application is accepted rather than when payment leaves your account.

Two things stretch it. Weekends and public holidays are not working days, so an application lodged late on a Friday can sit untouched for three calendar days before anyone looks at it. And an application containing a mismatch between the passport scan and the typed details is usually returned rather than corrected, which restarts the clock instead of pausing it.

Where this site stands

This is a reading reference. Nothing here is for sale, no application is submitted on anyone’s behalf, and no file or passport image is ever collected. Applications are made by the traveller, on the government’s own portal, for the government’s own fee.

If a page anywhere promises a guaranteed approval or a fixed turnaround measured in hours, treat the promise itself as the warning sign: the decision belongs to an immigration officer, and nobody outside that office can commit to it.

What is being written next

Guides covering the working-day count in detail, the weekend and holiday effect, what genuinely shortens a wait, and what is still open once a departure is closer than the published window.
